Today we decided to see if shadows change during the day. We thought that we should keep theplace and the person the same so we could measure the change and know that it was the sun that was making the difference.
You can see from the photos that the shadows sure do change! If you want to try this you need a place like the court so you can draw on it and somewhere that other shadows like trees and buildings are not going to get in the way.
Last night, way past our usual bedtime some of us went to see the moon through a huge telescope at Mr Knowles house. He knows heaps of stuff about the moon and other things in space.
"You had to close one eye and look through the tiny hole."
"It was so cool we could see craters on the moon and we saw Jupiter and four of the moons around it. "
"The moon was so bright!"
"We looked for footprints on the moon but we couldn't see them. Mr Knowles said there are no telescopes that can see the footprints we are just too far away for that!"
Awesome! wonderful! fantastic! amazing! . The show was great . Everyone worked very hard and performed so well.

We went to Bishop's School. Here are a couple of the stories we wrote about it . On Wednesday we went to Bishop’s School. “Knock! knock! “Go to the other door” “Come on kids,” said Raewyn. “Oh no!” I said. “I am going to get whacked, it’s got to hurt!” I sat with Maxwell on the desk. Mr Green had a whip and a whacker and a dunce hat. It had a ‘D’ on it. The chairs went up and down. It was noisy and cold, the fire wasn’t going. There was an old piano and I played on it. One of the keys was wooden. Some of the desks had an ink hole and some had holes in them. It was extremely awesome to be there! By Isaac Yesterday we went to Bishop’s School. Waimea, Moutere and Kahurangi went. When we got there, there was a big box. I wondered what was in the box. Then the box opened and there were clothes in it, I put them on. After that we came to a door. The teacher yelled, “Go around to the other door.” I was scared! When I went in the door it was very different. When I went in I sat on a wooden desk. The chairs couldn’t move out but they could go up and down. I saw the dunce hat. We sang a song then we got out of the desks and had a look around. I saw the writing they used to do. They kind of did curly writing, I couldn’t read it. I saw that the window was really high and it had little squares on the window.
Do you recognise these children? Are they the children of yesterday... or the adults of tomorrow? We have started learning the songs for our show! The show is called'Yesterday - Tomorrow'. It was really cool to go with Mum and Dad this morning because we went up to the lake at the back of our place. The lake was frozen! It was freaky to walk on . I slipped over. It was freezing cold. My hands were cold.

I went to Wellington in the weekend. We went to the zoo . They had wild dogs , lizards and giraffes. We got to feed the giraffes and we got to pat them! Giraffes tongues are purple and extremely long to reach the leaves. It was amazing to see the giraffes. I had a fantastic time.
