Sharing our ideas!

This week we are playing 'STOP THE HAZARD' with all the
other classes in our school.
The whole point of the game is to teach the other kids about how to stay safe at home.
We made up the game when we were learning how to stay safe at home ourselves.

We are sharing what we know!

We have called them :
NO-Name (because we forgot to give her one!)

We think we might have even more tomorrow.

Keeping safe at home

Here are some things to think about!

Why do you think we should pick toys up off the floor ?....

Did you know that you can drown in a really small amount of water.

Which way around should the pot handle be on the stove? Why?

What do you know about using a sharp knife?

Where should you be when someone is backing the car out of the garage? Why?

How many kids on the trampoline at once?

Keep visiting our blog and we will help you learn more about staying safe at home.

Butterfly Buttererfly Butterfly!

We are still waiting for all our butterflies to hatch .

Swimming Sports!

We are really good swimmers!
We had a fun day yesterday at our Swimming Sports.
In our class we are all 6 and we all did a length of flutter board, a length of free style and most of us did a length of floating on our back.
Sam's favorite was free style. Keegan loved the back stroke.
Nathaniel liked it because they were races!
Raewyn loved it because she got to see everyone doing fantastic swimming!

Here is Keegan ready to race!

Listening Actively!

This is what we think Active Listening looks like.

We have been talking about what things help us to learn.
One thing we have decided is that if we are good listeners it helps us to learn more easily.
LISTENING ACTIVELY!

What does this mean?
-Looking at the person who is talking.
-Being able to remember the things you have heard.
-Asking questions when the speaker has finished talking -Sitting still so you can listen carefully. -Not talking while you are listening to someone tell you something.

Here we are! Moutere 2008

We have been thinking about what to have as our goals.

Marshall has decided to work on sitting still on the mat.

Santana is trying to work without talking at writing time.

Isaac is learning to not talk when someone else is talking.

Tommy is trying hard to put his head under the water every time he goes swimming.

Blast Off! Moutere 2008!

5 4 3 2 1 BLAST OFF!

Here we go, we are ready to learn heaps
and have loads of fun in our new class.
Our class is called MOUTERE!

There are 15 kids and 1 teacher.
We are really lucky to be in such a cool class.

We have started the year talking about the things that make our classroom a happy place to learn.
Raewyn put a rocket on the wall to get us thinking about a new year and which way we want to go.
We have to figure out how we are going to get where we want to go and what we want as our goals for 2008.
